Awaken your palate with flavorful Butter-Poached Salmon paired with Auxerrois, then move on to Pan-Seared Black Cod, accompanied by earthy flavors such as morels, fingerlings, fiddleheads, and ramps, paired with Grüner Veltliner. Next, enjoy a sublime Oven-Roasted Duck paired with Pinot Noir. Finally, a flavorful finish awaits as the fourth course presents a Blackberry and Chèvre Cheesecake, perfectly complemented by Brut Rosé.

Meet the Chef
Chef Jon McKechnie is Gloucester born and raised, which has influenced his style and methods of cooking. This style can be described as rustic, refined, and innovative through quality ingredients, local sustainability, and consistency. Chef Jon is a Certified Executive Chef through the American Culinary Federation and has worked all over Massachusetts, most recently coming from The Country Club in Brookline, MA. When it comes to the future of 1606, Chef Jon is working with local purveyors to play with different flavors and pay homage to America’s oldest seaport. With various culinary initiatives, like dry-aged steaks, international conservas, and an innovative raw bar program, 1606 Restaurant and Oyster Bar has a fresh twist on traditional cuisine.
