Reservations are required. Price does not include tax and gratuity. Credit Card required for Prix Fixe Dinner and pre-payment is required for Buffet. Cancellations made after 11/21 at 9PM will be subject to a $67 per adult fee and $30 per child fee for the Buffet Dinner, and a $67 per adult fee for the Prix Fixe Dinner.

Meet the Chef

Chef Jon McKechnie is Gloucester born and raised, which has influenced his style and methods of cooking. This style can be described as rustic, refined, and innovative through quality ingredients, local sustainability, and consistency. Chef Jon is a Certified Executive Chef through the American Culinary Federation and has worked all over Massachusetts, most recently coming from The Country Club in Brookline, MA. When it comes to the future of 1606, Chef Jon is working with local purveyors to play with different flavors and pay homage to America’s oldest seaport. With various culinary initiatives, like dry-aged steaks, international conservas, and an innovative raw bar program, 1606 Restaurant and Oyster Bar has a fresh twist on traditional cuisine.
